The Ministry of Interior will initiate a comprehensive security plan at dawn on Monday to apprehend Residency Law violators who did not utilize the grace period provided to either leave the country or rectify their status, according to Al-Rai daily. The grace period, which lasted over three months, was extended until the end of June following directives from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Al-Sabah.

In a prior interview with the daily, Brigadier General Mazyad Al-Mutairi, Assistant Director of the Residency Affairs General Department, emphasized that “no violator will escape” once the extended deadline expires. He said the operation will encompass all governorates, with stringent instructions to deal firmly with violators who had a nearly four-month window to leave the country or adjust their status. Security personnel and patrols from the Residency Affairs Investigations, Criminal Investigations, Public Security, and Rescue Services departments will take part in the operation, with Special Forces ready to provide support if necessary.

The campaign will run continuously. Regarding those who will be detained, the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the embassies of the relevant countries are working together to issue travel documents for the immediate deportation of violators after legal procedures are completed, including fingerprinting to permanently bar their reentry into the country. Moreover, the authorities will take strict action against anyone found harboring violators, subjecting them to legal penalties and obligating them to cover the expenses associated with the violators’ deportation, including the ticket and the fees initially paid by the sponsor.
