Future Shorts Film Festival – Autumn Season // Nov 4

The Future Shorts Festival is the biggest pop up film festival of its kind, showcasing the most exciting short films from around the world.

This season, Future Shorts Festival will travel to over 172 countries and 547 cities with more than 75,000 people experiencing a showcase of the best short films from around the world.

Future Shorts celebrates the best and most innovative short films, connecting global stories with global audiences.

The Autumn Season will feature the following short films:

When approaching from Salmiya, take 4th Ring Road. Exit before Gulf Bank at Rd. 21. Take the first right. Drive approx 1 KM to reach the Life Center. The building is across from the Shuwaikh Immigration Dept. and houses Eureka, Midas, Hayat communications & CAP. CAP is on the second floor.

‘ Mubarakiyah ‘ Photography Exhibition

' Mubarakiyah ' Photography Exhibition

Location: CAP’s warehouse. Industrial Shuwaikh, Block 2, St 28, Next to Life Center.
Date & Time : Opening Reception: 10th of October.
Exhibition days: 10 October -17 October 2012

A group exhibition featuring a series of photographs taken by 15 participants of the CAP photography workshop. Led by two members of the Rawiya Collective, Laura Boushnak & Tamara Abdul Hadi, the workshop took place last May, in the Mubarakiyah Souq for a duration of two days. It’s main focus was on the old souq, the vendors, the visitors and the stories that can be found in this local public market.
All proceeds will go to “Hayat” Breast Cancer Foundation.

On the 21st of September 2012, the day of international peace approved by the United Nations, CAP are bringing, for the first time, Peace One Day to Kuwait, to raise awareness of peace in the region and to create a local unity that can ripple out onto a global unity for peace. The Art Salon, an art movement of composed of artists & designers & musicians of all nationalities that live & work in Kuwait, is hosting “Peace One Day – Global Truce” in Kuwait for the first time, by having an art exhibition to honor global peace. Join us if you support global peace. Children are welcome. We want them to grow up understanding & supporting peace.

Schedule:
5:50pm – Introductions
6:00pm – Kuwait Riders & Venetian Riders will enter and preform.
6:15pm – Release of the Pigeons.
6:20pm – Puppet show by Dalia Al-Hadi.
6:30pm – Hassan Karam (saxophone and violin)
7:00pm till 7:15pm – Poetry from the LOYAC volunteers.
7:15pm – Puppet show by Dalia Al-Hadi.
7:30pm – Abdullatif From Loyac (violin)
8:00pm till 8:30pm – Basil Al-Hadi Karrouhat band.
9:00pm – Hassan karam from Loyac (saxophone)
9:15pm – Open band
Art sales will be going on throughout the event.
