19 women arrested
As per Arabtimes, Officers from the General Department for Residency Investigations affiliated to the Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sector raided a domestic labor office and arrested 21 African expatriates including 19 women and two men.
According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, when the department obtained information that a domestic labor office has been harboring individuals who have violated the residency law, a team was formed for investigations.
After confirming the information and obtaining legal permission, the officers raided the office and arrested 19 women and 2 men holding Ethiopian, Ghanaian and Eritrean nationalities. They were referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against them.
