Three died on their way from Kuwait
Three Emirati football fans were killed in a horrific accident on the highway linking Kuwait and the city of Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
They were returning to their country after attending the final match of the Gulf Cup of Nations (Khaleeji 23) which took place last Friday at Jaber International Stadium in Kuwait City.
The three victims were identified as 19-year-old Mohammed Ali Mohammed Al-Mazroue, Ahmed Abdulla Mohammed Al-Hamadi, 20, and Abdulrahman Abu Bakr Talib Al-Harbi, who is also twenty years old.
Emirati Mohammed Al-Qahtani and his uncle Bashir Al-Qahtani suffered multiple injuries in the collision which happened near the region of Khafaji, in Saudi Arabia.
The tyre of one of the vehicles involved in the collision had burst causing the horrific accident.
The two injured citizens were flown home from Dammam International Airport and admitted to a hospital for treatment. The bodies of the other Emiratis were repatriated and buried.
