1,400 driving licences pulled to cut chaos on roads
The General Traffic Department is said to have put in place a strategy to address the issue of traffic congestion.
The ministry is said to have withdrawn the driving licences from 1,400 expatriates who had changed their professions rendering them ineligible to hold driving licences according to a law that was issued a couple of years back. A security source said this is to reduce traffic on the road.
The source also said even those who apply for taxi drivers licence will have to fulfill certain conditions to reduce the number of taxis on roads
