Court orders Kuwaiti to pay KD 20,000 to victim

The Civil Circuit of the Court of First Instance ordered a Kuwaiti citizen to pay KD 20,000 to the parents of his friend who died in a traffic accident caused by the citizen.

According to the case file, the defendant was driving his car recklessly with the victim as his passenger when he met with an accident, which resulted in the death of the victim. Lawyer Abdullah Al-Alanda said the defendant was accused by the Traffic Misdemeanor Department of causing the death of his passenger, who is the son of the plaintiff.

The court said the defendant has to pay compensation to the victim’s family since it is proven that he is responsible for the accident.
