Govt will pay for travel and exempt fines or raid hideouts
Within the framework to confront the new coronavirus epidemic the government intends to take several measures and one of them is ‘get rid of’ residence law violators, who according to government sources, number about 100,000, reports Al-Rai daily quoting government sources.
The daily added, the government has two options to solve this problem – one by offering an incentive to the violators who surrender voluntarily.
The daily says the government will pay for their travel and exempt them from paying fines and two by organizing campaigns to flush out the violators by raiding their hideouts in places of expatriate concentration.
Parliamentary sources told the daily “the file of residence law violators was discussed more than once during Parliament government meetings and the government finally came up with two-pronged solution – fine-less free travel and intimidation.
The places targeted will be Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Al-Hassawi because these two areas are infested with law violators. The sources added the plan is expected to be implemented soon after announcing it in the media because the authorities feel, although the task is not easy, it will lessen the pressure on government and foodstuffs and other commodities.
