Above 65 can get COVID-19 vaccine without prior appointment
The spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad, announced on Tuesday that all citizens and residents above the age of 65 can head to the vaccination centres and get vaccinated without a prior appointment.
The announcement comes as Kuwait is ramping up its vaccination efforts to reach its goal of vaccinating one million people by the end of Ramadan.
While the Ministry of Health has not indicated the exact number of people who have been vaccinated (either receiving the first or both doses), local media reported that over 800,000 residents and citizens have been vaccinated.
Al Sanad also added that 74.3% of Ministry of Education employees who registered have been vaccinated. The Ministry of Health is trying to vaccinating students and teachers to ensure that they are protected once schools open in September.
