C-Sick Storms His Way to the Regional Final @redbullkuwait
Kuwait was set afire on Friday night as the best 16 b-boys went head to head in fierce battles during the Red Bull BC One Cypher. More than 500 spectators gathered in Zumuruda and were treated to a night of intense battles as well as the riveting beats of Dutch DJ Tyrone while host Tamir kept everyone on toes in anticipation of the winner.
Breaking legends Ronnie (Red Bull BC One All Star), LIL G (Red Bull BC One All Star) and El Nino (Squadron Crew) judged the neck-and-neck battles. In the final round, C-Sick battled b-boy Primo, the battle was close to call but it was C-Sick’s flawless routines, rhythmic interpretation of the DJ’s beats, and nonstop stamina that brought him the coveted title for the second consecutive year.
“This title means a lot to me. To be a champion for the year in a row is not easy to achieve. I have worked hard this year and it paid off. I will train harder now as the level in the region is high.” Said C-Sick.
After besting 15 other prominent b-boys in Kuwait, C-Sick will now advance to compete in the Middle East Africa Final in Egypt with hope of making it to the World Finals in Rome, Italy.
Now in its 12th year, Red Bull BC One has earned the reputation as a showcase for the world’s best b-boys. While many competitions focus on crew battles, Red Bull BC One‘s one-on-one, single elimination battle format focuses on talents and strength of the individual dancer. Judges score the b-boys on their battle strategy, power moves, dance foundation, fresh routine, and overall style.
