First App based shuttle service in Kuwait by City Group Co.
City Group Co. is pleased to introduce “CityLink Shuttle” the first Shuttle service in Kuwait as our digital innovation initiative. The core objective of “Citylink Shuttle” as Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service is to provide smooth and safe transportation to match supply with demand efficiently in busy urban areas making those congestions free.
Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) is a form of shared transport for travelling individuals and groups. In this type of transport, vehicles alter their routes automatically, using advanced machine learning and AI technologies, based on transport demand without using fixed routes or timetabled journeys. These vehicles typically pick-up and drop-off passengers in specific stops according to the passengers’ needs. The technology ensures that the pickup and drop-off locations are within walking distances from the passengers.
“Citylink Shuttle” is a premium and an alternative service to personal vehicles or taxis. It aims to address several requirements by promoting optimized public transportation and majorly supplements the public transportation in areas with little to no access to it; and helps to organize transportation for everyone going to work, appointments, shopping, schools etc. This attractive service will translate into real savings for all while offering better access to mobility and having a positive impact on the environment.
“CityLink Shuttle” the first App based shuttle service in Kuwait is available for both Android and iOS users and puts Kuwait on the map alongside with Europe & US cities that have adopted the mobility and technology for smart cities, while improving the quality of life for residents and locals.
Starting Monday, July 25“CityLink Shuttle” initially will be available to commute between Salmiya– Kuwait City, Avenues–Salmiya and within Kuwait City and soon in few months will cover other areas of Kuwait. The new service is available 7 days a week, Sunday to Thursday between 6:00hrs. and 22:00hrs. as well as during Friday and Saturday from 7:00hrs. to 22:00hrs. It works for both immediate and scheduled rides, and digital payment is also integrated into the App for the convenience of all users.
