New test devices to check virus at Kuwait Airport
Health minister Dr Basel Al-Sabah said a new batch of new test devices are expected to arrive in Kuwait this week mainly to check the arrivals into Kuwait and help reduce the risk of virus infection, reports Al-Rai daily.
The minister said the new devices will give results of the tests – positive or negative – within 10 to 15 minutes. Speaking about continuation of the ‘forced holidays’ the minister clarified the Council of Ministers is in constant session and follows the developments to evaluate the situation and take appropriate decisions in the best interest of public health.
He added the precautionary measures are subject to change, therefore disrupting movement from and to or prohibiting travel or temporarily suspending flights and other procedures are all related to preventing the corona virus from spreading.
Dr. Basel has called on everyone to be responsible and understand the gravity of the current situation everyone is passing through, which requires exceptional measures to be taken temporarily to protect the health of Kuwaitis and residents first and foremost away from any other considerations.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health denied what has been published in the social media about resignations of undersecretaries, and called in ‘incorrect information’, reports Al-Anba daily. The ministry told Kuna that all senior employees in the ministry work with the spirit of one team and continue to perform their duties with full responsibility in harmony and cooperation to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents.
The sources said the ministry has full confidence in the decisions taken by the Council of Ministers which are fully consistent with the recommendations of the Ministry in order to protect the higher interests of the country and the health security, which has been praised by the World Health Organization for taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (COVID 19). The sources called on the social media users to check the accuracy of the reports they publish with the concerned officials.
