Once Kuwait place had rain of 300mm in one and half hour , Kuwait
Kuwait witnessed as of December 8, 1934, what has been locally known as “Al-Haddama Year,” chronicled as one of the Gulf country’s major historic events.
Kuwait had witnessed unprecedented torrential rains that reached 300 mm within only an hour and a half, thus causing raging floods and waters that swept away a third of the mud houses that existed at these old times.
The tragic event has been linked to other happenings in the 30s.
The “second haddama” happened in late November and early December of 1954, also due to heavy rains.
According to some historians, the third “haddama” took place on November 11, 1997, when heavy rains flooded public places, streets, caused extensive damage in properties and houses.
