Kuwait has the lowest retirement age among the Gulf countries — 55 years old for men and 50 years old for women, reports Al- Jarida daily quoting the Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS).
Retirement after the service of 34 years
The Ministry of Education will soon refer for retirement all teachers who have been in service for 34 years except those with rare fields of specialization, reports Al-Anba daily quoting Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Bader Al-Essa.
435 teachers referred to for compulsory retirement
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced Sunday its decision to refer 435 public school teachers – 258 Kuwaitis and 157 expatriates – for compulsory retirement as their years of service will reach 34 by the fifth of next month.
