Plan to raise fees of work permits and transfer of residence
The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) plans to endorse a resolution of increasing the fees on transfer or renewal of residence and issuance of work permits for the first time for those who work in the privates sector, ranging from KD 20 to KD 100, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting knowledgeable sources.
Additional charges of KD 250 imposed for extra work
Public Authority for Manpower has imposed additional charges of KD 250 for each work permit that exceeds the quota of 25 percent allocated for the companies listed in the Kuwait Boursa and classified by the Central Agency For Public Tenders as first, second and third class, trademark agencies, stockholders and holding companies, etc.
Change in Job Designation on Work Permit
I have done a Bachelors in Computer Science (BSC) and the certificate has been approved and attested by Ministry of Justice. Can I use the word “Engineer” as job designation on my work permit. My company had put the designation as “maintenance technician” but I want to have this changed. Kindly provide me with the different kinds of job designations which can be mentioned on the Izz ne Amaal (work permit).

Kuwait Work Permit
Well-informed sources at the Manpower Public Authority said that the total number of work permits issued in 2013 were 163,686, an increase of 25,253 compared to 2012.
