Expat jailed for two years followed by deportation
As per Arabtimes, The Court of Appeals presided over by Judge Mohammad Al-Mulla upheld the verdict issued by a lower court
which sentenced an expatriate to two-year imprisonment with hard labor followed by deportation for issuing a dud cheque of KD 400,000 to a Kuwaiti citizen.
Representing the citizen was Attorney Thamer Al-Mutairi, who explained that the defendant issued a cheque of a closed bank account.
Investigations revealed that the signature on the cheque was the same provided when closing the account. His client contacted the defendant after the cheque bounced back but the defendant decided to disappear due to which his client filed the case against him.
