Expats caught driving without licence will be deported, 145 deported
The Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Major-General Abdullah Al-Muhanna, has denied rumors that the of Directorate-General of General Traffic Department (GTD) has withdrawn the order to deport expatriates who are caught driving a vehicle without driving licenses, reports Al-Jaridah daily.
He went on to say to the contrary the GTD is determined more than ever before to deport persons caught driving without licence. Major-General Al-Muhanna added the GTD since the start of implementation of the decision on April 23, 2015, has deported 620 expatriates for driving without licence.
He noted the number of deportees since the beginning of this year until the end of April reached 145 cases, which confirms the GTD is not in a mood to deal leniently with those who disobey the laws.
