New 9252 Security Cameras in Kuwait
Ministry of Education has supplied 9,252 security cameras to a number of public schools in all educational zones of the country such that each school will have at least 12 cameras, reports Al-Qabas daily. Director of Information Systems Management at Ministry of Education Huda Al-Mutairi stressed that the security camera project, which will cover 771 government schools, is one of the important project in the developmental plan of the ministry.
She said cameras will be installed near main school gates, schools’ backyards, inside corridors and some important areas inside the school that contain vital machines and equipment such as computer labs, music rooms and examination control centers of the schools.
Al-Mutairi explained that the objective of this project is not to monitor students or members of the teaching staff, as rumored, but it is intended for ensuring the safety and security of the school, teachers and students. She added that the project is at its final stage of distributing the cameras. Meanwhile, sources revealed that Ministry of Education is preparing to distribute 80,000 ‘tabs’ to students of secondary schools and their teachers at the start of the coming academic year.
